Christmas Fun in OKC


It is finally December in Oklahoma and it sure is beginning to look a lot like Christmas. That being said, here are a few things in OKC to bring that Christmas Fun!


OKC Ballet's The Nutcracker


All will be merry and bright as Oklahoma City’s favorite holiday production, The Nutcracker, fills the Civic Center in a warm glow this December. Tchaikovsky’s familiar score and Artistic Director Robert Mills’ delightful staging come together as Clara and the Nutcracker Prince journey to adventurous places beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. An Oklahoma City favorite now in its 50th year, this joyous production awaits you and yours this holiday season.

Edmond ice rink


Edmond Ice Rink at Mitch Park (1501 W Covell Rd) offers ice skating, holiday music and food concessions. $13 with skate rental; $10 if you bring your own skates. $10 for ages 5 and under. Monday – Thursday, 3 – 9 p.m.; Friday, 3 – 10 p.m.; Saturday, noon – 10 p.m.; Sunday, noon – 9 p.m.; See website for exceptions.


The Polar Express Train Ride


Set to the sounds of the motion picture soundtrack, passengers will relive the magic of the classic story on an hour train ride. During the trip, characters on each car lead passengers in a reading of the book, cookies delivered by dancing chefs and the chance to meet Santa.

The train will be running on Thursday - Sunday, plus additional days the week of Christmas. See website for a schedule of departure times




This winter, go wild and fill your holiday season with the magic of light! OKC ZOO SAFARI LIGHTS features a larger-than-life light display showcasing over 59 wildlife themed light sculptures viewable on a driving tour through the Zoo. Feel the holiday cheer with animated light displays, festive treats, kids activities and weekend visits with Santa.

 In addition to the drive-thru experience, OKC ZOO SAFARI LIGHTS includes a separate walking experience with interactive light exhibits, musical light performances and lots of other winter magic as guests journey through the Zoo’s entry plaza, Children’s Zoo and DINO SAFARI.
